FAQ · Buying decisions
What soldering station should I buy?
Last verified 2026-08-09
It depends on how you'll use it. First station, general hobby use: the YIHUA 939D+ III EVO (£69.50, 110W, digital PID) is the best all-round starting point. Tight budget: the YIHUA 926LED-IV (£32.50). Doing SMD rework alongside soldering: the YIHUA 995D+ I EVO (£89.50), which adds a separate hot-air gun to the same base. Professional or daily-use bench: the Hakko FX888D, priced higher but backed by decades of parts and tip availability. See our full comparison for the complete field, and check current stock before deciding — the cheaper YIHUA models move in and out of availability.
